Position: Prep Setter / Mixer
Location: Northampton (Unit ABC – operating across an impressive 5-unit campus with around 2,000 colleagues as the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and sushi for Marks & Spencer)
Pay Rate: £17.29 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Saturday to Wednesday, 19:00 – 03:30
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated operations and food production talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their flagship Northampton facility, we are currently seeking a meticulous and reliable Prep Setter / Mixer to ensure accurate ingredient mixing, proper machinery operation, and adherence to top-tier food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Mixing & Preparation: Prepare correct manual and machine mixes for production lines, strictly checking recipes, ingredients, and specifications.
Machinery & Setup: Set up and operate equipment correctly, execute smooth changeovers, and perform regular blade integrity checks.
Compliance & Checks: Complete all quality, food safety, and compliance documentation accurately, and escalate any issues promptly to the Line Coordinator.
Safety & Standards: Maintain high standards of hygiene, health, safety, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) in a busy, cold production environment.
What We Are Looking For
While full training is provided, we are looking for candidates with:
Experience & Education: Previous FMCG, food manufacturing, or warehouse experience (along with Food Safety/Health & Safety Level 2 qualifications) is highly advantageous, backed by strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Core Skills: Excellent attention to detail for following complex recipes, good written and verbal English communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.
