About the Role

As a PBS Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centered Positive Behaviour Support across our services. You will carry a caseload, conduct functional assessments, and co-design proactive, strengths-based PBS plans. A critical part of your role will involve building staff capability through hands-on coaching and modelling best practices "in the moment."

Key Responsibilities:

Assessments & Formulations: Complete independent functional behaviour assessments (including ABC, scatterplots, MAS, observations, and interviews) to identify environmental triggers, unmet needs, or communication barriers.
PBS Plan Development: Co-produce personalised, strengths-based PBS plans (PBSPs) integrating trauma-informed, autism-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Staff Coaching & Capacity Building: Deliver practical, "in-the-moment" coaching and structured training to staff teams, helping them confidently implement plans and use data to track quality-of-life metrics.
Reducing Restrictive Practices (RRP): Proactively support the Salutem RRP Pathway, conduct RRP assessments alongside managers, and devise individualised restraint reduction strategies.
MDT Collaboration: Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team (including psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and education) to ensure holistic care.

About You

We are looking for a values-led, analytical, and highly compassionate practitioner who can translate complex behavioural concepts into practical, empathetic support.

Qualifications & Experience:

Level 1 or Level 2 Practitioner: Level 2 requires at least 2 years of PBS delivery and caseload management experience.
Education: Willingness to complete a PBS qualification (Essential); a formal PBS qualification or degree in Psychology, Behavioural Science, or Health & Social Care is highly desirable.
Sector Experience: Proven experience working directly with autistic individuals and/or people with learning disabilities who display behaviours of concern in residential, supported living, or education settings.
Key Skills: Strong data literacy (interpreting behavioural metrics), excellent report writing, and familiarity with communication aids (AAC).
Flexibility: Willingness to travel across services to provide support (a full UK Driving License is required).
