Salary: £49,000 to £55,000 per annum for General/Medical Ultrasound experience, scaling up to £60,000 per annum for candidates with MSK experience (Competitive NHS Band 7 equivalent)

We are acting on behalf of Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd—a trusted provider of medical diagnostic imaging services established in 2004 that delivers over 350,000 scan appointments annually across the UK—to recruit an experienced Sonographer for a mobile role based across Nottingham and local clinic sites.

Working autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive ultrasound scanning and reporting services for both NHS and private patients.
1. Clinical Scanning & Reporting
Conduct a variety of ultrasound examinations according to established guidelines, demonstrating full proficiency in unsupervised scanning sessions.
Deliver comprehensive ultrasound scanning and reporting services within your defined scope of practice, utilizing analytical and judgmental skills to interpret images and produce accurate reports.
Collaborate effectively with referring clinicians, requesting Radiologist reviews when necessary, and adhering strictly to clinical protocols and policies.
2. Patient Care & Clinic Management
Uphold exceptional standards of patient care in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, navigating unpredictable situations with patience and professionalism.
Efficiently manage clinic sessions alongside Diagnostic Imaging Assistants to ensure a smooth patient flow and experience.
Contribute to clinical audit, governance activities, and the training of other medical staff, radiographers, and healthcare professionals.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Relevant professional qualification in Medical Ultrasound (such as DMU, PgD, or MSc) with current professional registration (e.g., HCPC or equivalent).
Experience: Strong, demonstrable experience across general, gynae, small parts, and/or MSK ultrasound, including completion of a CASE-accredited course and solid NHS background.
Competencies: Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to work independently with strong clinical judgement and attention to detail.
Requirements: Flexibility to travel across local clinic sites; current UK professional registration.
Desirable Criteria
Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Proficiency in using patient management databases and PACS systems.
Competitive Remuneration: Generous salary scaling from £49,000 up to £60,000 based on experience, plus overtime enhancements, car allowance, and mileage reimbursement.
