About the Role
We are recruiting a Bank Chef on a flexible 0-hour contract to provide culinary cover at Forest Care Centre in Mansfield.
In this key kitchen role, you will deliver hotel and restaurant-quality dining experiences using fresh seasonal ingredients without the burnout of traditional split shifts. Working on day shifts, you will assist the Head Chef in preparing nutritious, well-balanced, and wholesome meals tailored to resident preferences and dietary needs, while helping maintain smooth, high-standard kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal produce in accordance with nutritional standards.
Help manage kitchen operations, stock control, and team workflow in the Head Chef’s absence.
Tailor menus around individual resident needs, preferences, and special dietary requirements.
Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards, adhering strictly to HACCP protocols.
Complete regular kitchen audits and support budget management and stock ordering.
About You
To join us as a Bank Chef, you will bring:
City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ level culinary qualification (or equivalent).
Proven culinary experience working with fresh seasonal food and a solid understanding of nutrition and HACCP standards.
Experience in guiding, leading, and motivating kitchen support staff.
A warm, personable approach and a genuine passion for resident wellbeing and hospitality excellence.
