Top supply chain strategists don't just manage bottlenecks; they optimize networks to bring more to value. Lidl’s growing Supply Chain department is looking for a dedicated professional to join their busy Inbound Logistics team on a 6-month temporary assignment.
In this role, you will bring a proactive, creative approach to problem-solving by following international procedures. You will act as a key liaison between Lidl Headquarters in Germany, Head Office departments, and regional supply chain teams, ensuring the successful delivery of stock to regional distribution centres and stores. (Note: Should this temporary assignment have the potential to go permanent, the colleague on the assignment will have first-refusal of the role provided measures are met).
Working on a hybrid model, you will spend three days or more in a state-of-the-art office featuring an on-site gym, restaurant, and top-tier amenities, combined with up to two days working from home.
What You’ll Do:
Global Liaison: Liaise with internal Head Office colleagues, international logistics departments, and regional supply chain teams.
Order Management: Prepare, consolidate, and check national orders prior to sending them to the international team.
Logistics & Troubleshooting: Deal with delivery issues for imported stock, troubleshoot logistics challenges, and build good relationships with national hauliers.
Reporting & Support: Update and maintain reports, logs, and spreadsheets while supporting the accounts and buying departments with invoice enquiries.
Availability & Process Improvement: Take proactive actions to improve regional product availability and reduce write-offs, attending weekly team meetings to report on outstanding international loads.
