Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this 1-year school-based programme enables eligible candidates to access a £29,000 tax-free bursary or a £31,000 scholarship while working toward a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You will spend the vast majority of your time gaining hands-on classroom experience, putting pedagogical theory into practice, and building your confidence inside a vibrant, supportive secondary school.
Generous Financial Funding: Access a £29,000 tax-free bursary or a £31,000 scholarship (subject to eligibility) to support your living costs while completing the £9,790 tuition fee-paying programme.
Dual Qualifications: Graduate in 1 year with both a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Practical Classroom Experience: Gain real-world teaching experience as an unqualified Computing teacher, backed by dedicated 1-on-1 mentoring as you gradually take on independent teaching responsibility.
Personalised Coaching & Mentorship: Guided by a dedicated in-school coach and personal subject tutor who provide weekly feedback, ongoing advice, and tailored career support.
Weekly Collaborative Training: Spend half a day every week attending targeted training sessions alongside fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Two-Week Summer School: Prepare for your training year with two weeks of focused learning (2–13 August 2027) covering lesson planning, behaviour management, and core educational theory.

To be eligible for this Computing ITT position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Degree: An undergraduate degree (2:2 classification or above) completed by the start of the programme. A degree in Computing or a related field is preferred (or a strong A-Level in Computing at Grade C or above).
GCSEs: Grade 4 (C) or higher in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
Teaching Status: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Work Rights: Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
