About the Role
We are recruiting a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Laundry Assistant to join the award-winning team at Beckenham Park Care Home, operated by Avery Healthcare. Working alongside the Head Housekeeper, you will provide a high-quality laundering service as part of our hospitality function, ensuring residents' clothing and home textiles are impeccably maintained.
Shift Patterns:
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all daily laundering duties efficiently and to a high standard.
Interpret wash guide instructions and understand the specific care requirements for a wide range of textiles and fabrics.
Safely handle and manage cleaning materials and equipment.
Practice safe systems of work—particularly regarding moving and handling loads—while assessing risks to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and colleagues.
Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team, responding positively to colleagues and management.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working within a laundry, care home, or hotel setting.
Knowledge: Understanding of laundering requirements and textile care.
