We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Duty Manager to join the team at Shrewsbury Sports Village. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a safe, well-managed environment where customers can enjoy fitness and leisure activities with confidence. Leading colleagues across the facility, you'll help ensure high operational standards while supporting the Trust's mission to make a positive impact on the community.
Day-to-Day Operations: Manage the daily operations of the leisure facility, ensuring all activities and areas are run safely and to the highest standard.
Team Leadership: Lead, support, and supervise colleagues, ensuring duties are clearly delegated and completed efficiently.
Health & Safety Culture: Champion a strong safety culture, maintaining strict compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, building positive relationships with visitors, partners, and stakeholders.
Emergency Response: Respond calmly and effectively to any emergency situations, taking control to protect customers, colleagues, and the facility.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor operational performance and contribute to ongoing improvements using performance data and customer feedback.
Experience: Previous supervisory or operational experience within a leisure, hospitality, or customer-focused environment.
Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and support a diverse team.
Problem-Solving: A proactive, decisive approach to decision-making in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications: A First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent) is essential; an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely qualification is highly desirable.
