Senior Mental Health Nurse NHS AfC: Band 7

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an experienced Band 7 Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their Integrated Proactive Care Service in Edmonton, UK. Based at Lucas House within Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, this permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM) offers a pivotal senior clinical leadership role serving diverse communities across Enfield.

Working in partnership with the Enfield GP Federation, you will deliver specialist mental health interventions as part of a multidisciplinary proactive care team supporting adults living with complex physical and mental health needs, frailty, and dementia. You will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, manage high-risk caseloads, coordinate multi-agency care pathways to reduce hospital admissions, and provide expert clinical supervision and guidance across primary care, social services, and community networks.

Role Description

As a Band 7 Senior Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will deliver expert clinical leadership, perform advanced psychological assessments, lead complex case management, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support adult community care.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive mental health and psychological assessments for adults with complex conditions, establishing individualised, recovery-focused care plans.

• Provide expert clinical consultation on risk management, safeguarding, dementia care, and medication adherence to GPs, social care, and multidisciplinary neighborhood teams.

• Proactively manage complex caseloads, coordinate integrated care pathways, lead quality improvement and training initiatives, and prevent avoidable emergency hospital admissions.

Requirements

• Active 1st Level Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

• Significant post-registration experience in a senior nursing role within acute, community mental health, or primary care settings, with proven experience caring for older adults.

• Valid full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for community visits.
