Salary: £36,756.72 (Single Skilled) to £40,818.96 (Multi Skilled) + £7,550 shift premium
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Rotating 12-hour shift pattern (06:00 – 18:00 / 18:00 – 06:00), averaging 42 hours (3.5 days) per week
About the Role
We are proud to partner with our client as a supportive staffing agency to recruit a skilled Single or Multi-Skilled Engineer for their established animal feed mill in Allensmore, Hereford. Ideally suited for professionals holding a minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering, this role offers a secure, permanent career where you will optimize machinery output, drive preventative maintenance, and minimize plant downtime in a dynamic production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and rapid reactive breakdown repairs for plant equipment, elevators, and conveyors.
Diagnostics & Problem Solving: Identify root causes of equipment failures, communicate unscheduled breakdowns to management, and record spare parts usage through CMMS.
Compliance & Calibration: Ensure audit compliance, maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and perform regular process weigher and liquid meter calibrations under the Weights and Measures Act.
Projects & Specialized Systems: Participate in mechanical and electrical projects (such as PLC upgrades, panel installations, and machinery refurbishments) and support effluent plant systems, fire suppression, and dust control measures.

What We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience: A time-served multi-skilled or single-skilled apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline. A minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering is required.
Desirable Extras: IEE 17th or 18th Edition certification, PLC experience, pneumatic/hydraulic knowledge, or BOAS certification.
Skills & Attitude: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, a proactive approach to safety, and a positive, flexible attitude toward working within a team.
