Supportive Bridge Staffing is seeking an inspirational, high-performing educational leader for the position of Associate Assistant Principal – Head of English Faculty on behalf of our client, Lift Broadlands.
This is a key leadership appointment. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead a dedicated department of 4 English teachers (including an ITT trainee via Ark Teacher Training) while taking on a whole-school leadership remit. You will directly drive the academy toward Lift Schools’ national 490 Target—ensuring 90% of GCSE pupils achieve Grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics by 2028.
Senior Leadership: Sit on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and take ownership of a strategic whole-school remit alongside departmental leadership.
Faculty Leadership: Set a clear vision for the English Faculty, building a high-performing, collaborative team culture that drives strong GCSE outcomes.
Curriculum Design & Quality: Design and continuously evaluate an ambitious, knowledge-rich English curriculum aligned with national standards.
Staff Development & Coaching: Lead appraisals, deliver high-quality instructional coaching, and support the professional growth of departmental colleagues and ITT trainees.
Data-Driven Progress: Utilize assessment and progress data to inform target setting, adjust pedagogical strategies, and implement effective interventions for vulnerable learners.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Degree in English Literature, Language, or a related discipline.
Proven track record as an outstanding classroom practitioner with a history of driving exceptional GCSE student outcomes.
Experience or clear readiness for middle/senior leadership, with strong communication and team management skills.
