Support Worker

Leonard Cheshire is hiring a full-time Support Worker at Athol House in Crystal Palace, a service giving person-centred care to up to 21 disabled adults of all ages, with accessible facilities and gardens.

What you will do:

• Help with daily living, including personal care, mealtimes and medication
• Encourage independence through a person-centred approach
• Go with people to appointments, events and community activities
• Keep clear, accurate records

What they are looking for: a warm, empathetic approach, good communication and teamwork, and willingness to work flexibly including weekends. Personal care experience helps but is not essential, as full induction and training are provided. A satisfactory disclosure check and references are required. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Hours: 40.5 hours a week on day shifts, on a rota covering weekdays and weekends. Permanent contract.

Pay and benefits stated by Leonard Cheshire:

• £13.38 per hour, plus £1.00 per hour for night and weekend working (not sleep-ins)
• 28 days' annual leave, rising with service to 33 days
