We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd—the UK’s leading provider of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities—as they look for an enthusiastic Operational Support Assistant Apprentice to join their team at the Rotherham Connect office.
As an Operational Support Assistant Apprentice, you will be a key point of contact for service users, their families, and healthcare prescribers. You will balance customer service, administrative duties, and diary management to ensure community equipment is delivered efficiently and safely.
This role offers a fantastic stepping stone into the healthcare and logistics sector, combining hands-on office experience with structured training and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage inbound and outbound calls, liaising professionally with service users, families, and prescribers within agreed KPIs.
Book delivery rounds in advance for Technicians and Service Engineers using specialized software.
Ensure client details are accurate, up-to-date, and well-documented with system notes.
Action emergency jobs quickly by coordinating effectively with technicians and the warehouse.
Handle emails and queries within target timeframes while helping resolve complaints with empathy.
Manage reception duties and facilitate retail sales when required.
You are a proactive, organized individual who is eager to learn and shares Medequip’s core values of empathy, teamwork, reliability, and excellence.
Skills: Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office applications, with strong communication skills.
Experience: Some prior experience in a customer service-focused role within a similar industry is desirable, but a willingness to learn and grow is most important.
