About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—the UK’s largest defence contractor—to source an experienced Solution Architect.
In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of global defense, aerospace, and security solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative information systems, or act as the Project Technical Authority to ensure engineering governance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Projects range from smaller scale initiatives to multi-million pound programmes spanning several years, directly contributing to enterprise growth and the modernization of global IT environments.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Architecture Design: Define solution architecture and designs that align with business requirements, technical frameworks, cost constraints, and timelines.
Blueprint Mapping: Capture and define current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") application, data, and technology architectures.
Quality Assurance: Ensure and assure that overall functional and technical designs are acceptable, robust, and fit for purpose.
Technical Leadership: Lead IM&T solutions and associated third-party product teams as the Project Technical Authority, driving effective communication and governance.
Supplier Collaboration: Liaise closely with internal and external IM&T suppliers and product teams.
Project Planning: Partner with Project Managers to review estimates, schedules, identify dependencies, and support project plan development.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience delivering IM&T solutions accompanied by strong architecture deliverables.
Solid hands-on experience across the design, development, testing, and release of Information Systems.
Practical knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile, including governance processes, policies, and standards.
Previous background providing technical leadership (e.g., acting as a designated Technical Authority).
