Supportive Bridge Staffing is looking for an organized, proactive, and empathetic Attendance Admin Assistant to join our client, Lift Firth Park, a vibrant secondary school in Sheffield.
Because consistent attendance is the single biggest foundation of student achievement, this role is far more than routine administration. Working within the school administrative team and supporting the Attendance Lead, you will play a key part in tracking student engagement, removing barriers to education, supporting families, and maintaining high administrative and safeguarding standards across the school.
Attendance & Student Data Support: Respond to daily attendance inquiries, record absences, update student records, compile tracking reports for SLT, and communicate with parents and carers regarding absence.
General Administration & Reception: Assist with general office duties, monitor the school email inbox, draft/distribute school communications (newsletters, announcements), assist with admissions/enrolments, and welcome school visitors.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to internal administrative processes, and enforce school safeguarding guidelines at all times.
Administrative & Technical Skills:
Previous administrative experience, ideally within an educational setting.
Proficiency in spreadsheets, administrative software, and school Management Information Systems (MIS) for tracking and reporting student data.
Attendance Guidance Knowledge: Practical understanding of statutory DfE attendance guidelines (Working together to improve school attendance), attendance coding, persistent absence thresholds, and the link between attendance and safeguarding.
Communication & Personal Attributes:
Empathetic, warm, and professional communication style when addressing sensitive attendance matters with parents, carers, and pupils.
Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage time-sensitive priorities.
Eligibility Requirement: Must possess valid UK Right to Work (this post does not meet salary/skill thresholds for visa sponsorship).
