About Althea Park House

Althea Park House is a specialist, 10-bedded residential home dedicated to supporting individuals aged 16+ who are navigating eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. This unique environment works creatively alongside residents to help them seek a fulfilling life outside the confines of their illness. Supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play an active, vital role in achieving excellent treatment outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, you will be a comforting, stable presence for residents trying to move forward in very difficult circumstances. Your primary focus will be supporting resident needs by following personalized care plans and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Mealtime & Recovery Support: Act as a supportive, encouraging figure before, during, and after mealtimes.
Daily Living & Goals: Help residents engage with hobbies, community activities, and occupations such as education or employment.
Keyworking & Innovation: Undertake keyworking responsibilities for individual service users—helping them set, document, and review personal goals while promoting personal choice and independence.
Clinical Collaboration: Assist qualified staff with the implementation of individual treatment plans, ensuring all personal care and dignity requirements are met.
Administration: Keep meticulous daily notes, update person-centered care plans, and maintain precise charts.
Safety & Confidentiality: Adhere to strict safety, security, and data protection policies to maintain a safe environment.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

This work is profoundly rewarding but requires a high degree of resilience, empathy, and emotional intelligence. No two days are the same!

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker within a similar mental health or eating disorder environment.
Education: Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSE standard in Mathematics and English.
Certifications: Successful completion of the Care Certificate is required.
Skills: Basic IT literacy, excellent rapport-building skills, and a deeply ingrained understanding of the importance of strict confidentiality.
Requirements: Right to work in the UK.
