Supportive Bridge Staffing is delighted to partner with Lift Barton Hill to recruit a warm, empathetic, and organized Community Café / Hub Coordinator.
Funded by the National Lottery, this unique part-time role sits at the heart of an exciting community project based at St Martin's Church. You will manage the day-to-day running of the community café—creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space where local families, children, and neighbors can connect, access early help, borrow books, receive clothing donations, and participate in skill-building workshops.
Café Operations & Warm Welcome: Maintain a friendly, safe, and inclusive environment; manage stock, food ordering, and day-to-day café setup.
Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, support, guide, and schedule a dedicated team of community volunteers.
Community Engagement & Signposting: Build trusting relationships with visitors, signposting families to helpful local support services and partnering charities to assist those affected by the cost-of-living crisis.
Workshop & Event Programming: Collaborate with external agencies, charities, and support groups to schedule a calendar of interactive workshops, training sessions, and community events alongside regular café hours.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, allergen awareness, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding guidelines.
Background & Experience:
Experience in customer service, hospitality, community development, or working with people (prior experience as a café manager is not essential—transferable interpersonal skills are key).
Experience managing budgets, organizing tasks, or coordinating volunteers is highly advantageous.
Certifications & Training:
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, First Aid training, and Allergen Awareness certification (or a willingness to complete these upon appointment).
