About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to collaborate with Asda Opticians to connect dedicated individuals with fantastic healthcare career opportunities. We are recruiting for a fixed-term, part-time Optical Colleague for day shifts in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Prerequisite Note: Candidates must be over the age of 18 and pass an enhanced safeguarding check prior to employment.
Shift Pattern: Day shifts, 18 guaranteed hours per week (flexibility required to work a range of shifts, including late shifts and weekends).
Core Responsibilities: Preparing patients for eye examinations, completing pre-screening tests, booking customer appointments, dispensing spectacles and contact lenses, managing repairs and adjustments, and handling supplier stock.
Training & Progression: Receive dedicated training—including options for the Asda Optical Step In training programme or Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship—with potential future pathways to GOC registration via the Level 6 Dispensing Optician Apprenticeship.
About You
Naturally friendly, highly organised, and enthusiastic about getting stuck in to deliver exceptional healthcare service.
Possess strong computer skills, close attention to detail, confidence with numbers, and great problem-solving abilities.
Passionate about patient care, comfortable discussing ocular health issues, and skilled at helping customers find the right products with a warm smile.
