Who We Are & Who We Support

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

As a trauma- and attachment-informed organization, we place the child at the center of every decision. We ensure education professionals, therapy teams, carers, and local authorities work hand-in-hand to secure outstanding outcomes. The work is both varied and challenging, which is why we provide all staff with extensive, ongoing therapeutic training and support.

The Role

At Compass, we believe all teachers are primarily teachers of children before they are teachers of subjects. Central to this role is truly knowing the child, building nurturing, positive relationships, and inspiring motivation.

As our Mathematics Specialist, you will:

Deliver engaging Maths curricula spanning Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE.
Create a sense of awe and wonder, making mathematical concepts real, relevant, and exciting.
Plan learning opportunities that challenge students at all levels—whether they are mastering the basics or pursuing a unique passion for the subject.
Manage complex and challenging behaviors with high emotional intelligence, utilizing consistency, flexibility, and a strictly non-judgmental approach.
Collaborate with national subject champions to share best practices and drive curriculum development.
Actively contribute to school decision-making and bring your own passions to our extra-curricular offer.
