Join a growing multidisciplinary team and play a vital role in delivering the prestigious Type 26 frigate programme! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this exciting Senior Trials & Commissioning Engineer – Electrical position on behalf of BAE Systems.

Operating on-site at Scotstoun, you will take an in-build "dead ship," energize platform systems, set them to work, attend sea trials, and help transition advanced naval vessels over to the Royal Navy and customer acceptance authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Set to Work (STW): Execute the electrical Set to Work of all T26 platform equipment, ranging from gas turbines, gearboxes, and generators to individual pumps, fans, and instrumentation.

• Electrical Safety & Energisation: Maintain live systems electrical safety on ships through strict permit controls and energisation programmes under safe systems of work policies.

• Sea Trials & Demonstrations: Attend all ship sea trials and demonstrate major machinery performance directly to the client and naval acceptance authorities.

• Fault Finding & Investigation: Conduct thorough fault finding and technical investigations into complex design issues across ship platform systems.

• Documentation: Author test and acceptance documentation for use on board and for demonstration to naval authorities.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering discipline (extensive practical experience will be considered if academic requirements are not fully met).

• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret complex electrical engineering drawings, diagrams, and manuals.

• Commissioning Skills: Strong background in complex ship systems fault finding and resolution during set-to-work phases.

• Professional Growth: Relevant STEM qualifications with a commitment toward working for Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered (CEng) status (support provided; preference given to professionally registered candidates).
