About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Avery Healthcare to recruit a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Maintenance Operative for Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree.
In this essential hands-on role, you will ensure that the building and grounds are kept in pristine condition by performing routine maintenance tasks, checking services, applying basic fixes, and making sure all facilities remain fully functional and safe for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs covering electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building work both inside and outside the home.
Support new residents by helping them arrange their rooms to their personal preference.
Conduct routine re-decoration as required to maintain the high standards of the home.
Advise on the supply and quality of maintenance items, ensuring the timely ordering of replacement goods.
Provide an out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the home's on-call rota.
About You

What We Are Looking For:
Experience & Qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a general maintenance or handy person role, and/or a professional qualification in a trade.
Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required.
Safety Knowledge: Solid awareness of Health and Safety regulations, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
Flexibility: The ability to adapt and cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
