Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our trusted asylum accommodation and support partners for a dedicated Assistant Cook.
Based in Coventry City Centre, you will help deliver high-quality catering services that support the wellbeing of service users every day under the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC). Working closely with the Head Cook and the wider catering team, you will play an important role in ensuring nutritious meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards within a supportive, inclusive environment.
Food Preparation: Assist the Head Cook in preparing and cooking varied, nutritious menus, including special diets and tailored meals for religious and cultural events.
Service Delivery: Support the smooth execution of catering operations in line with Home Office and catering standards.
Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous food quality checks before, during, and after meal services.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate records to comply with food hygiene regulations, HACCP requirements, COSHH guidelines, and company policies.
Safety & Standards: Help uphold high standards of food safety, kitchen security, proper storage, and safe distribution across the site.
Stock & Waste Management: Support stock ordering, food waste management, recycling activities, and general kitchen duties as required.
Essential Qualifications: Level 3 Food Safety qualification and Level 2 Allergens in Catering qualification.
Industry Experience: Extensive background working in a large-scale catering environment, ideally with at least three years in a similar role.
Desirable Qualification: Level 3 HACCP qualification is highly desirable.
Team & Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds while fostering a positive team environment.
Commitment to Quality: A strong dedication to delivering high standards of service, safety, and care.
Vetting Requirement: Successful completion of a Standard DBS check and an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
