Bridge Staffing Agency is partnering with an innovative specialist in cyber test ranges to recruit an experienced C++ Software Developer. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions within robust Linux environments. Collaborating closely with internal teams and clients, you will translate requirements into scalable technical approaches, leveraging tools like Valgrind for profiling and Docker for containerization. As a key contributor, you will champion code quality, testing, and modern development workflows.
Note: Due to the secure nature of this work, candidates must hold a valid Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance at the time of application.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions in C++ for Linux-based environments.
Write robust, maintainable, and well-tested code emphasizing performance, reliability, and scalability.
Utilize static analysis, memory profiling, and debugging tools (such as Valgrind) to ensure exceptional code quality and coverage.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects, including third-party dependencies and customer libraries.
Containerize applications using Docker for seamless deployment and scalability.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Maintain efficient version control and code management using Git, Bitbucket, and GitLab.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent commercial experience.
Proven commercial experience (5+ years) developing software in C++ and/or Java, preferably within Linux environments.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented programming principles.
Experience building enterprise-scale backend applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
Solid grasp of multithreaded and concurrent application development.
Proficiency in analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing software performance in Linux.
Experience with relational/NoSQL databases, Docker, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
Solid version control experience using Git and a track record of working in Agile environments.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
Occasional UK travel for team or customer meetings, events, and training activities.

Undertake additional duties commensurate with the role to support smooth business operations.

Base Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
