At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are recruiting a dedicated Kitchen Assistant on behalf of Barchester Healthcare to join the catering team at Silverbirch House Care Home in Guildford.
In this role, you will play an essential part in providing wholesome, nutritious meals and first-class hospitality to residents. Working alongside the kitchen and care teams, you will assist in meal preparation, maintain impeccable cleanliness standards, and ensure every resident enjoys a dignified and satisfying dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Food & Meal Prep: Assist chefs with daily food preparation, meal plating, and baking to support residents' dietary requirements.
Dining Support: Help serve meals and beverages, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and relaxed dining room atmosphere.
Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain rigorous cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards across kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and wash stations.
Resident Connection: Interact politely and warmly with residents during meal service, learning their individual tastes and preferences.
About You
Qualities: Reliable, considerate, caring, and practical with strong attention to detail.
Background: No formal qualifications required! Prior experience in catering, commercial kitchens, or care settings is useful, but not essential.
Mindset: A strong commitment to upholding clean, safe, and hygienic food handling practices.
