We are currently seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Head Chef on behalf of our partner, Avery Healthcare, at their luxury Elstree View Care Home in Borehamwood.
Your core focus will be managing and leading a skilled culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality dining service that contributes directly to the overall well-being of residents while operating efficiently within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing modified diets that look appealing, are well-balanced, and strictly adhere to IDDSI guidance.
Managing food orders with approved suppliers, ensuring proper stock levels and control while purchasing quality provisions within agreed budget limits.
Supervising, directing, and mentoring kitchen staff and the host team, demonstrating simple food preparation tasks to unqualified staff.
Practicing safe systems of work across all tasks, assessing risks, and ensuring the health and safety of residents, visitors, and staff.

Our Ideal Candidate Must Have:
At least 2 years of experience managing a culinary team within the care or hospitality sectors.
Relevant catering qualifications (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent).
A true passion and commitment to delivering top-tier culinary standards for elderly residents.
Proven ability to successfully control budgets and manage kitchen operations.
A satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (costs covered by the employer).
Valid proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
