Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is delighted to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Mental Health Nurse (NHS AfC: Band 5) to join their team in Uxbridge, UK. This newly developed role offers an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to combine mental health care within an acute hospital setting.
In this full-time position, you will work across shift patterns, primarily based in the Emergency Department while deploying to clinical wards to support patients requiring enhanced care. You will play a vital role in conducting mental health assessments, implementing de-escalation strategies, and delivering person-centred care within a supportive healthcare environment.
Role Description
As a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse, you will provide clinical mental health assessments, risk formulations, and therapeutic interventions to patients presenting with acute mental health needs within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mental health assessments and ongoing risk evaluations (including self-harm, suicide, vulnerability, and delirium/dementia).
Provide therapeutic engagement, de-escalation, and one-to-one enhanced support for agitated or distressed patients using trauma-informed approaches.
Develop, implement, and review individual care plans while supporting discharge planning and legal framework management (Mental Health Act/Mental Capacity Act).
Requirements
Active registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Proven ability to establish positive therapeutic relationships with service users and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
Strong digital literacy skills for accurate documentation on Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems.
Benefits
Calculated hourly rate of £18.95 to £23.03 per hour (based on £36,943 - £44,900 per annum including High Cost Area Supplement across 37.5 hours per week).
