The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-known university seeking to recruit a skilled Technical Business Analyst to support the discovery and definition phases of their ambitious new AI programme.
This role bridges business and technical teams to identify AI opportunities across academic, research, and professional services areas. You will understand user needs, assess current technical capabilities, and define functional requirements for implementing a new AI platform leveraging Microsoft Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct discovery activities to identify AI use cases across academic, research, and professional services.
Engage closely with stakeholders to understand user needs, requirements, processes, and personas.
Analyse current technical capabilities and the existing Azure environment to identify platform requirements and gaps.
Work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to define functional and non-functional requirements.
Produce high-quality business requirements documentation and structured supporting artefacts.
Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions.
Support the development of the AI platform roadmap and implementation approach.
Collaborate with project management, architecture, platform, and delivery teams.
Provide recommendations on processes, governance, and operating models to support sustainable AI adoption.
What We’re Looking For
Significant and proven experience working as a Technical Business Analyst.
Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience delivering discovery and definition phases for major technology programmes.
Good understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based platform architecture.
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
Strong documentation skills, including the production of comprehensive Business Requirements Documents.
Ability to engage effectively and communicate across both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and workshop-facilitation skills.
