We are currently recruiting an energetic Children's Basketball Coach to join the team at Bangor Aurora Leisure Complex on behalf of Northern Community Leisure Ltd.
In this rewarding role, you will help young people develop their basketball skills, confidence, and teamwork in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment, inspiring the next generation to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
What You’ll Do
As a Children's Basketball Coach, your responsibilities will include:
Session Delivery: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate basketball coaching sessions and progressive programmes for children and young people.
Skill Development: Teach fundamental movement skills, basketball techniques, and tactical principles.
Inclusive Environment: Create a fun, supportive atmosphere that encourages participation, personal growth, respect, and good sportsmanship.
Safety & Safeguarding: Ensure participant safety and wellbeing through effective supervision and strict adherence to health and safety procedures.
Community Engagement: Support junior participation through tournaments, camps, festivals, and community basketball events.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Experience coaching or leading physical activity sessions for children and young people.
Qualifications: A recognized basketball coaching qualification from a governing body (or actively working towards one).
Core Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills, with a solid understanding of player development principles.
Safeguarding: A clear commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and inclusive sports practice.
Vetting and Checks
Due to the nature of working with children, an Enhanced Access NI check is required for this role, alongside completing an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
