Supportive Bridge Staffing is recruiting a Trainee Physics Teacher on behalf of Lift Four Dwellings Secondary in Birmingham. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Tuition Fee-paying route enables you to work towards both Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) while benefiting from substantial government-backed financial incentives.
You will spend the majority of your time gaining practical classroom experience, putting pedagogical theory into practice as an unqualified Physics teacher. Throughout the school year, you will be supported by 1-on-1 expert mentoring, weekly structured training modules, and an intensive two-week Summer School to build your teaching confidence before taking on independent classroom responsibilities.
Generous Financial Funding: Eligible trainees can access a £29,000 tax-free bursary or a £31,000 scholarship to help cover tuition fees (£9,790) and living costs.
Dual Qualifications: Graduate with both a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
1-on-1 Mentoring & Coaching: Benefit from dedicated guidance, weekly structured feedback, and continuous support from an in-school mentor and personal subject tutor.
Targeted Weekly Training: Spend half a day every week attending structured training modules alongside fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Mandatory Summer School: A two-week preparatory course (2–13 August 2027) providing a solid foundation in educational theory, lesson planning, and behaviour management.
Degree: Undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in Physics, STEM, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, a strong A-Level in Physics (Grade C or above) will be considered.
GCSEs: Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
QTS & Residency: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Must possess full Right to Live and Work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
