About this role
Exemplar Health Care is looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to lead a unit on days at Otterburn, its CQC 'Good' rated nursing home in Kings Heath, Birmingham. The home supports adults living with dementia, complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities such as Huntington's disease and stroke.
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, you would manage the nurses, nursing associates and health care assistants on your unit and take charge of its clinical care and risks. Duties include:
- Leading the unit's nursing and care teams to meet residents' medical, physical and emotional needs
- Making sure care plans and risk assessments are completed, reviewed and kept accurate
- Acting as Named Nurse for allocated residents
- Overseeing the ordering, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication
You must hold a first-level nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN (RGN, RMN or RNLD), plus post-registration and management or supervisory experience, training or qualifications. Strong clinical and communication skills, confidence working on your own initiative and good digital skills are also expected.
