Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with essential public service providers to connect trustworthy, organized professionals with high-impact careers. We are currently seeking a dedicated Operational Support Officer to join the team at HMP Ashfield in Bristol.
In this pivotal role, you will help maintain safety, security, and smooth operational flow across the facility, ensuring a secure and controlled environment that supports positive reform.
As an Operational Support Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Control Room Operations: Monitor CCTV and radio systems, respond promptly to alarms, and complete necessary documentation and net test/cell call checks.
Gatehouse Management: Control access for staff and visitors, conducting vehicle and staff searches as required.
Escort & Command Support: Assist with vehicle escorts around the establishment, manage Body Worn Video Camera (BWVC) equipment, and support the Command suite or emergency exercises.
Contingency Planning: Participate actively in drills, exercises, and general operational support duties as directed by the Custodial Operations Manager.
Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent), with solid IT literacy.
Skills & Abilities: Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. You must be a team player with excellent communication abilities, capable of maintaining strict confidentiality and handling sensitive information with utmost trust and decorum.
Requirements: A full UK driving licence is required. The role involves shift work, which may include nights.
Desirable: Prior knowledge of security procedures, Microsoft Office proficiency, or previous experience working within a secure environment or similar client group.
Competitive Pay: £26,436.80 per annum with regular reviews.
