In this pivotal role, you will work alongside the Head Chef to run smooth daily kitchen operations using fresh local produce and modern equipment. You will design, prepare, and deliver nutritionally balanced, diet-sensitive meals tailored to residents' choices and needs while stepping in to manage kitchen workflows and maintain high team standards in the Head Chef's absence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, maintain team discipline, and take full control of kitchen management in the absence of the Head Chef.
Consult with residents to design and prepare nutritious, well-balanced, and diet-sensitive meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
Maintain high food safety standards, utilize modern equipment, and leverage supply chain resources to uphold culinary excellence.
Requirements
Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC), NVQ 2/3 in Practical Cookery, and a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment with strong knowledge of nutritionally balanced menu planning and dietary catering.
Experience in stock control, budgeting, or care home environments is advantageous, alongside a strong team-oriented mindset.
