About the Role
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Head Chef to lead and manage the culinary team at Milton Court Care Home, operated by Avery Healthcare. In this pivotal role, you will provide a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service that significantly enhances the health and well-being of our residents while operating strictly within budget limits.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, supervise, and direct kitchen staff and the Host team, guiding and instructing team members in simple food preparation activities.
Prepare appealing, well-balanced modified diets in compliance with IDDSI guidance.
Order food provisions from approved suppliers—maintaining correct stock controls and high-quality standards while adhering to agreed budgetary limits.
Practice safe systems of work across all tasks, assessing risks associated with manual handling and prioritizing the safety of residents, visitors, and staff.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience managing a culinary team within the care or hospitality sectors.
Qualifications: Must hold a relevant catering qualification (such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ).
Skills & Attributes: Proven ability to manage and control a budget, alongside a profound passion and commitment to delivering exceptional culinary standards to elderly residents. You must consistently live by our core values of caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability.
