Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Change Grow Live (CGL) to recruit two committed, compassionate, and proactive permanent Through the Gate Coordinators to join their expanding team at HMP Channings Wood in Newton Abbot.
With HMP Channings Wood preparing for a significant prison expansion, this is an exciting time to join a growing service offering fantastic opportunities for career development. In this role, you will support individuals during the 12 weeks leading up to their release—helping them overcome barriers, coordinate vital referrals to community and healthcare services, and successfully transition back into society to sustain their recovery and independence.
Pre-Release Support: Support individuals during the 12 weeks leading up to their release, helping them prepare for life beyond prison.
Resettlement Planning: Develop personalised resettlement and recovery plans, coordinating referrals to healthcare, treatment, housing, and community services.
Advocacy & Collaboration: Work closely with prison staff, healthcare teams, resettlement units, and external partner agencies to advocate for service users.
Safeguarding & Reintegration: Promote recovery, resilience, and social reintegration while contributing to risk management and safeguarding processes.
Transferable Skills & Attitude: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for helping others, building positive relationships, and achieving positive outcomes.
Background Diversity: Experience in substance misuse, criminal justice, social care, mental health, housing, customer service, or armed forces is welcomed, but not essential—we value attitude, motivation, and transferable skills and provide full training.
Core Competencies: Well-organised, able to manage competing priorities, resilient, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements: Must hold the legal Right to Work in the UK (note: this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check).
