The Role
Are you warm, enthusiastic, and passionate about food service? Hampstead Court Care Home is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant on a flexible bank contract to support the catering team in food preparation, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure the safe production of quality meals and beverages for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding and applying principles of safe food handling to ensure food preparation meets the highest standards of hygiene.
Contributing fully to teamwork, responding positively to colleagues, and executing work instructions promptly.
Advising on the supply and quality of items used, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
Acting courteously and respectfully toward residents and their visitors, always keeping resident dignity and individuality in mind.

Requirements:
Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
Knowledge of Health and Safety standards, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
An efficient worker capable of sustaining a high level of physical effort to manage a demanding workload.
Positive, flexible aptitude with strong initiative and team-working skills.
A caring and understanding attitude towards elderly residents.
Requirements for Employment: Proof of eligibility to work in the UK and a DBS Disclosure check (the cost of which is fully covered by Avery Healthcare).
