Position: Medical Secretary (Bank Role)

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Park Hospital in Nottingham—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit a flexible Medical Secretary for their Medical Secretaries department.
This is a bank role operating on an "as and when required" basis, giving you the flexibility to manage your own schedule while supplementing staffing levels during busy periods or providing essential cover for annual leave and absences. In this vital secretarial role, you will provide dedicated administrative and clinical correspondence support to consultants, ensuring seamless patient communication and efficient clinic operations.
Consultant Support: Provide dedicated secretarial assistance to one or more consultants, handling diary management, clinic preparation, and transcription of clinical correspondence.
Audio Transcription: Type letters, reports, and medical documentation accurately from audio dictation or handwritten notes.
Correspondence Management: Prepare and promptly distribute clinic letters and follow-up documentation to GPs, patients, and referrers.
Patient Liaison: Coordinate with patients to confirm appointments, investigations, admissions, and follow-up care, serving as a professional and compassionate point of contact.
Booking & Coordination: Support the scheduling of medical tests, procedures, and consultations while ensuring all pre-appointment requirements are met.
Experience: Proven professional background in a medical secretarial or administrative role within a healthcare environment.
Core Skills: Excellent typing, audio transcription, and communication skills, coupled with a strong patient-centred approach and high attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospital IT/dictation systems (e.g., PAS, EPR).
Desirable Criteria: AMSPAR qualification (or equivalent in medical secretarial studies); knowledge of private healthcare systems, billing, and insurance protocols; familiarity with patient records; and experience supporting consultant-led or surgical services.
