In this essential role, you will translate complex customer requirements into clearly defined, production-ready work packages seamlessly integrated into project delivery schedules. Leveraging your technical expertise, you will accurately assess labor, materials, and specialist services required for each task, ensuring solutions are practical, achievable, and fully aligned with operational objectives within a dynamic ship repair environment.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop task breakdown structures and schedules based on customer requirements, production processes, and work dependencies.
Identify required materials, subcontractors, and services while reviewing supplier quotations for accurate scope and cost coverage.
Estimate labor hours and resource requirements using production standards, parametric methods, and technical expertise.
Conduct pre-production planning checks, manage workflow progression through planning boards, and resolve planning issues impacting delivery.
Maintain and improve planning data, cost estimates, and standard job libraries by creating and updating task lists and parts information.
Industry Experience: In-depth understanding of production planning, resource estimation, and operational delivery within a ship repair or maritime engineering environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ship repair production processes, methods, safety practices, and product safety assurance.
Drawing Interpretation: Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements while resolving technical issues.
Toolsets Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for planning and production management.
Security Note: Due to defense and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
