About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented, reliable individual looking for a part-time, permanent day role (23 hours/week) where your practical skills directly contribute to the comfort and dignity of care home residents?

At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are currently recruiting a permanent Laundry Assistant on behalf of Barchester Healthcare to join the housekeeping and hospitality team at Burwood Grange Care Home in Walton-on-Thames.

In this vital support role, you will help keep the home running smoothly by managing the laundering of residents' personal clothing, linens, and bedding. From sorting, washing, drying, and ironing to carefully returning clean garments to individual rooms, your attention to detail ensures residents always feel comfortable, respected, and at home.

Key Responsibilities

• Laundry Operations: Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron residents' personal clothing, bedding, and home linens efficiently.

• Garment Care & Distribution: Ensure all garments are handled with care, properly labeled, and delivered promptly and neatly back to resident rooms.

• Infection Control & Hygiene: Maintain strict standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the laundry room, following chemical safety and infection prevention guidelines.

• Equipment & Stock Maintenance: Assist in monitoring laundry supplies and ensuring commercial washing and drying machines are operated safely.

About You

• Attributes: Personable, reliable, hard-working, and committed to delivering an exceptional service for older adults.

• Practical Skills: Good practical abilities with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to sorting and ironing.

• Experience: Formal qualifications are not required! Previous laundry, housekeeping, or care home experience is helpful, but full training is provided.

• Team Mindset: Dedicated to playing an essential part in the overall smoothness and presentation of the home.
