Lung Screening Co-ordinator NHS AfC: Band 4

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an experienced Lung Screening Co-ordinator (Band 4) to join their screening service in Harrogate, UK. Based at Harrogate District Hospital within Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, this permanent internal position offers a vital administrative role to support the rollout and coordination of the new Targeted Lung Health Check / Lung Cancer Screening Programme.

In this full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (part-time options available), you will serve as the primary administrative point of contact for patients, carers, primary care providers, and clinical teams. You will coordinate patient screening pathways, schedule diagnostic tests and appointments, organize weekly screening review meetings, and support patients through their screening journey with clear communication and practical guidance.

Role Description

As a Band 4 Lung Screening Co-ordinator, you will coordinate administrative patient pathways, manage screening schedules and diagnostic bookings, act as a single point of contact for enquiries, and plan multidisciplinary screening review meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a single point of contact for patients, carers, and healthcare staff, triaging sensitive enquiries and effectively escalating urgent clinical results.

• Liaise with booking teams and clinical departments to schedule diagnostic tests, appointments, and investigations promptly to avoid pathway delays.

• Coordinate and plan multidisciplinary screening review meetings to ensure compliance with local and national cancer targets and key performance indicators.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above, including English and Maths), NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent administrative healthcare experience.

• Demonstrated experience working with patients or the public within a healthcare environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and medical terminology.

• Experience with HDFT patient information systems (e.g., WebV, ICE, ICS, CRIS, Winscribe) and strong organizational, triage, and communication capabilities.
