Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is currently partnering with Rhodes Wood Hospital to supply dedicated, compassionate temporary and contract staff. Rhodes Wood is a leading service providing tailored residential care for children and young people aged 8–18 years with eating disorders.
As an agency Catering Assistant, you will work alongside an established, friendly kitchen team reporting to the Head Chef. This role offers a calm, supportive working environment where you will help prepare meals, maintain top-tier kitchen hygiene, and occasionally interact with young people and staff.
Assist the catering team with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in line with company policies.
Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
Maintain accurate storage procedures, rigorous stock rotation, and safety standards.
Ensure that all kitchen areas, equipment, and dining furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
Support operational hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance with COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
Liaise closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, regarding tailored dietary requirements and planned menus.
To be successful in this agency placement, you will need:
A relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable, though hands-on experience is key).
Working knowledge of COSHH and HACCP safety protocols.
Previous experience working within a kitchen, catering, or similar healthcare/hospitality role.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
A caring, professional attitude with a strong understanding of safeguarding in a vulnerable care environment.
