We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Nights) on a permanent full-time night basis (44 hours per week) on behalf of The Martins in Bury St Edmunds—a distinctive and characterful home located beside the historic cathedral and Abbey Gardens.
In this key night leadership role, you will support the Home Manager and senior team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care through the night, while leading, motivating, and developing care colleagues. You will take charge during shifts, deputise when required, administer medication, and help maintain a calm, secure, and respectful environment that promotes resident dignity and comfort.
Experience: Previous professional experience working in a care setting, including shift-leading or deputising experience and medication administration.
Qualifications: A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent) is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, good IT literacy (email/basic office systems), and the ability to lead and motivate a team overnight.
Proximity & Attitude: A flexible approach to work, sensitivity to the needs of older people, and ideally living within 15 miles of Bury St Edmunds (IP33 1YA) for a manageable commute.
