As a Kitchen Assistant, your focus will be to support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean, hygienic environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high-quality and comprehensive service is delivered to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and apply the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation meets the highest standards of hygiene.
Contribute fully to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and action all reasonable work instructions promptly.
Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.

Qualifications & Knowledge: Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene, and possess knowledge of Health and Safety (particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments).
Skills & Attributes: An efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and handling a demanding workload. You should display initiative, a positive and flexible aptitude for teamwork, and a caring, understanding attitude towards residents.
Requirements: Applicants must have proof of eligibility to work in the UK and undergo a DBS disclosure check (cost met by Avery Healthcare).
