Salary: £26,558.00 – £28,834.00 per annum (Actual Salary) + Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) & Lift Schools Benefits

Supportive Bridge Staffing is excited to partner with Marling School to recruit a confident, adaptable, and engaging Cover Supervisor / Sports Coach.
In this versatile position, you will serve as a trusted adult keeping learning on track when regular classroom teachers are absent. You will guide students through pre-prepared lesson plans, maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment, and ensure high standards of behavior across various subject areas.
Calling All Sports Coaches & Physical Educators!
If you have a background in sports coaching, team leadership, or personal training, this role is a natural bridge into secondary education. Managing a classroom uses the exact same core skill set as commanding a sports pitch or court: clear instruction, positive energy, structured group leadership, and the ability to motivate and command respect from young people.
Classroom Delivery: Guide secondary students through set lesson tasks across a range of subjects, ensuring tasks are understood and completed.
Positive Behaviour & Culture: Maintain high expectations for behavior and focus, implementing the school's behavior policies effectively and professionally.
Student Support & Inclusion: Assist students with SEND or additional learning needs to access the curriculum and achieve their lesson goals.
Feedback & Registration: Complete accurate attendance registers and provide constructive feedback to subject teachers regarding class progress.
School Supervision: Assist with break-time supervision or additional duties across the school campus when required.
Qualifications & Background:
Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Experience working with children or young people (e.g., teaching assistant, sports coach, youth worker, or group leader).
Skills & Qualities:
Strong presence, clear communication skills, and natural leadership qualities.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate patience, and manage challenging situations with care and confidence.
Adaptability to work across different age groups and subject disciplines smoothly.
