Location: UK Wide – Available across Scotstoun, Filton, New Malden, and Portsmouth (Hybrid – typically 2 to 3 days per week on-site)
Salary: Up to £77,000 depending on skills and experience

We are proud to partner with BAE Systems to source an experienced Solutions Architect to drive digital transformation and govern architecture across their vital Naval Ships environment.
As a Solutions Architect, you will take ownership of the design and implementation of technology solutions across the Naval Ships environment. You will be accountable for governing architecture, driving the adoption of high-level standards, and managing the long-term health of the IT estate while working on international programs and advanced manufacturing digital initiatives.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Define solution architecture and design to meet complex business and system requirements within budget, time constraints, and technical frameworks.
Capture and map current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") application, data, and technology architectures for assigned projects.
Provide Project Technical Authority leadership, ensuring the solution architecture and design are clearly communicated and strictly followed.
Deliver rigorous design management and governance through effective change and configuration management practices.
Lifecycle Understanding: Solid comprehension of the IT and software development lifecycles (including Agile methodologies), associated reviews, standards, and governance processes.
Application Design Experience: Proven professional track record in the design, development, and deployment of major IT applications and how they align with business processes.
Framework Knowledge: Practical knowledge and demonstrable experience working within recognized architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
Security Note: Due to the defense-related nature of the organization, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may also apply, typically requiring 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency.
