As a Kids Activity Assistant working on behalf of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust at Shrewsbury Sports Village, you will play a vital role in encouraging active, healthy lifestyles across the local community.
Operating on a flexible, casual contract, you will help design and deliver safe, engaging holiday scheme programmes, sports activities, arts and crafts, and children's birthday parties. Your work ensures that young people stay active, build confidence, and make the most of their school breaks in a secure, inclusive environment.
Activity Delivery: Plan and deliver fun, safe sports, arts, and crafts sessions in line with the holiday scheme programme.
Party Hosting: Facilitate and host children's birthday parties, guaranteeing a high-energy, structured, and safe experience for all attendees.
Inclusive Engagement: Interact positively with children of diverse ages, creating a supportive, welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to maintain high-quality holiday provision across all activity areas.
Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to safeguarding practices, site health and safety procedures, and accurate record-keeping standards at all times.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable team player with a natural gift for working with children and youth groups.
Experience & Knowledge: A foundational understanding of holiday scheme provision, youth engagement, or activity delivery.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, customer care, and organizational skills to manage multiple children and activity zones smoothly.
Personal Attributes: A flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for working with children.
Vetting Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced DBS check (covering spent and unspent convictions) and completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire are mandatory.
