Relief Support Worker - Chemsley Wood

Mencap is looking for Relief Support Workers to join a team in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, supporting adults with a learning disability to live as independently as possible in their own homes and community. This is a relief role with 0 contracted hours, so you choose the hours you work.

The people you would support lead busy lives, enjoying swimming, concerts, theatre, football matches, cooking, crafts, holidays and much more.

What you will do:

• Help with everyday living, such as budgeting, paying bills, housework, appointments and cooking healthy meals
• Support people to understand the world around them and build positive relationships
• Help people take part in local community and social events
• Give personal care where needed, including prompting medication and help with bathing and showering

What they are looking for: good communication skills and a caring, patient nature. Mencap says it is not looking for specific experience and will train you. An enhanced DBS check and references are required. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
