About the Opportunity
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—a global leader in defence, aerospace, and security—to recruit an enthusiastic and analytical Graduate Land Molecular Modeller in Glascoed.
As part of the world-leading Land Team, you will support the British Armed Forces and international customers by equipping them with top-tier munitions products—ranging from small arms ammunition to heavy artillery, tank ammunition, warheads, and payloads for landmark projects like the Challenger 3 Battle Tank.
Role Overview
As a Graduate Molecular Modeller, you will focus on developing Quantum Mechanical and Molecular Dynamics models to advance our understanding of existing and novel energetic materials, directly supporting the SMART Qualification initiative. Working within the Engineering Analysis Team alongside project engineers and stakeholders, you will build predictive models and help introduce cutting-edge chemical modelling software and toolsets.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, test, and introduce chemical modelling software and toolsets for novel and existing energetic materials.
Build advanced computational models to predict and understand the behavior of energetic materials.
Work alongside project engineers and stakeholders to support the execution of UKMOD projects in the field.
Engage with the wider business to expand and develop the SMART Qualification initiative.
Provide flexible support for ad-hoc technical requirements as needed.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Background: Must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree (or a pass at Master’s level) in Chemistry.
Working Arrangement: Willingness and capability to work on-site in Glascoed 3 to 5 days per week.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet national identity, birthplace, and residency criteria.
