The Opportunity
We are working with a client in the financial services sector looking to bring in an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the ongoing evolution of their cloud data platform.
You will be joining a growing data function focused on elevating engineering standards, modernizing data infrastructure, and delivering scalable data solutions across the business. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys building robust pipelines, implementing best practices, and driving technical improvements within a cloud-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines using modern Data Engineering best practices.
Develop scalable, reusable, and well-documented data solutions.
Support the evolution of cloud-based data infrastructure, data lakes, and storage tooling.
Implement engineering standards across data platforms, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Partner closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
Contribute directly to platform improvements, performance optimization, and overall data platform maturity.
What We’re Looking For
Proven commercial experience working as a Senior Data Engineer within cloud-first environments.
Strong background delivering platform improvements, migrations, or data modernization projects.
Experience designing scalable and maintainable data pipelines.
Comfort influencing engineering best practices and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Experience working within regulated corporate or financial services environments.
Core Tech Stack: Python, DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, Azure, and Terraform.
Beneficial: Experience with Kubernetes / AKS and advanced CI/CD DevOps workflows.
