Role Overview
Working within the Centralised C&I Governance Team, you will guide and mentor engineering delivery team members while driving technical excellence across 12 major C&I systems (including Distributed Control Systems, Control Consoles, and Vehicle Control Systems). You will generate and assure requirement consistency, develop functional designs, and establish engineering methods that lay the groundwork for the success of future submarine programmes.
Core Duties
Support wider C&I design across sub-systems for Secondary Propulsion, Platform Mechanical, and Platform Electrical.
Manage requirements stakeholders to ensure consistency across the Centralised C&I team.
Assess designs against compliance requirements, ensuring design risks are mitigated as far as reasonably practicable.
Provide guidance, instruction, and governance on engineering methods and processes to ensure consistent technical excellence.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Education: Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline.
Industry Experience: Proven background working within a regulated sector such as Defence, Oil & Gas, or Nuclear.
Technical Expertise: Professional knowledge and experience in Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design across the full lifecycle.
Requirements Management: Well-developed experience in full lifecycle requirements management alongside strong stakeholder communication skills.
Security Clearance: Must achieve a minimum of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
