We are currently recruiting a dedicated Head of Housekeeping on behalf of Barchester Healthcare for Hugh Myddelton House Care Centre in Southgate.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Head of Housekeeping, you will lead by example to ensure the care home maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort. You will combine hands-on operational work with team leadership to create a warm, welcoming, and pristine environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of domestic and housekeeping staff.

• Take a active, hands-on role in daily cleaning operations across all resident rooms and communal spaces.

• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, infection control, and hygiene standards.

• Conduct regular quality checks and maintain essential operational supplies.

• Foster a positive team culture that takes pride in delivering high environmental standards.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a detail-oriented, supportive leader with relevant housekeeping experience and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Requirements & Attributes:

• Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or senior housekeeping role within a care home, hospital, or hotel setting.

• Leadership: Ability to manage, inspire, and develop a team while working alongside them.

• Mindset: Strong attention to detail, proactive work ethic, and a high standard for quality.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills and a warm, empathetic manner when interacting with residents, families, and team members.
